basic plot: adrien asks marinette to fake date him so he can later woo the girl of his dreams (her)
“Did I step on something?” Adrien asked, putting his weight on
one foot at a time to check underneath his sandals. “I don’t see
anything?”
“I do.”
He stilled. “Is it a spider?”
“No, it’s worse,” she replied solemnly.
“What’s worse than a spider?”
Marinette looked into his eyes. “Wearing socks with sandals.”
He blinked. “But I’ve seen you do it before.”
His sandals were bright yellow and the socks he had on were tie-dye.
She had no words to explain the difference.
With a defeated sigh, she adjusted the bag strap across her chest so
it wasn’t flattening her collar. It wouldn’t do to have the frills of
her collar lay out of place.
Then again, she looked spectacular beside him.
Adrien’s expression turned into one of triumph.
“You’re impossible,” she muttered.
“I think I make the impossible happen,” he said, rocking on his
heels as he clasped his hands behind his back. Instead of being
childlike, it reminded her of an old person. “I’ve got you on
another date, haven’t I?”
“This is a pity date,” she replied.
Adrien beamed. “Actually, it’s a fake date.”
“Pity fake date.”
“PFD.” He made a thoughtful noise. “Can we drop the pity? That
way I can tell people that we FD.”
She was unimpressed. “People?”
He pouted. “Nino?”
“Sure, tell Nino we fucked,” Marinette replied, linking her arm
around his. “If he believes you, that means you’re doing something
right.”
Marinette and Chat Noir have a nebulous “let’s just be emotionally vulnerable with each other, kiss sometimes, and not put a label on it because we’re both in love with other people” thing going on but for Adrien the lines begin to blur. He starts offering to carry Marinette’s bag, is always trying to give her a ride home, and other boyfriend-ly things, TO MARINETTE’S EXTREME CONFUSION.
One night she finally loses it and tells Chat that Buttercup is driving her crazy; he’s there every time she turns around, and she keeps making a fool of herself! Of course she believes he’s just trying to be a Good Friend and she’s reading into it too much because of her feelings for him, but Chat is suspicious (and not a little jealous), leading to a situation where Adrien becomes single-mindedly determined to catch Buttercup in the act.
Chat noir saw Marinette on her way home with groceries, she fell and lost the bag, Chat came and picked it up for her. Aaaaand Reports came like vultures.

Radical feminism is the reason no one takes true feminism seriously.
I once had a radfem follow me and I have never once questioned my entire existence as seriously as I did in that moment. Like I questioned every little thing I might have done wrong to make them think they’re welcome on my blog.

Finally someone said it. This goes for all rad- subgroups on tumblr 🙄
On the one hand, it’s the Internet, what do people expect. On the other, we have to stop letting large communities of radicals go unchecked—these people do still exist in the world (although there are many bots too). By “stopping” these people I mean having conversations as to how and why this ideology is harmful and wrong—not just mass silencing everyone you disagree with. Even for a belief that is agreed upon to be wrong by most who are respectable and/or humane, this method of silencing could cause people who are confused or misinformed to be grouped into it and never give them the chance to be corrected. Or, in other cases, YOU will be the one who is wrong. There are many many reasons beyond this as to why silencing is a horrible strategy for people to expect change in an ethical way. Overall, sharing beliefs and listening (though critically cautiously) in general is a good pathway towards finding whats right at an individual level and, from there, that can be extended to a larger community level. There are many radical ideas that are the exception, that we shouldn’t even begin to consider, but when you start treating every semi-ethical issue as black and white you a) have lost your ability to think on your own and b) are missing out on the opportunity to adjust your opinions when needed in order to be better. You dont always even have to be wholly wrong in order to need some correction anyway
Somewhat ironically, I think possibly the most human story about 9/11 is the one about the tree they found in the rubble.
About thirty days or so after the attacks, as rescue workers were trying to clear the wreckage and find the bodies of the dead, they found this little tree branch sticking out, otherwise unremarkable…but it still had leaves. And do you know what they did?
They dug out this tree. They dug this burnt and blackened tree out of the pile, took it out of the city and re-planted it to give it a chance to survive. To grow back. Just because they saw these leaves. And by some miracle, it did, and ten years later they brought this now 30-foot-tall tree back to lower Manhattan to plant it in the memorial at ground zero. They brought the tree home.
And is that just not…the most human fucking thing? These guys saw this one thing in that pile that was still alive, and they said dammit, we’re gonna save this little tree. We can’t save anything else, but we’re gonna save this tree. And they did.
Say what you want about people, but I truly believe we are good at heart.
pro-tip: a lot of the time, when an image off google is automatically saving as “.webp” or “.gifv” in order to stop you from using it, you can work around this con pretty easily. all u gotta do it right click and select “open image in a new tab”.
notice how this new tab’s url ends with “.gifv”? or some kind of code converting a normal image to a webp (ex: “.png?type=webp”)? literally just manually edit the url so it just ends at “.gif” or “.png”. delete the “v” or delete the code. then hit enter so the image reloads under this new url, and hit save. it should save correctly this time <3
